Shane Carwin is a professional Mixed Martial Arts from the United States of America who competes as a Heavyweight fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship or the UFC, the premier Mixed Martial Arts promotion in the world where he has been an interim holder of the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

Carwin made his debut in Mixed Martial Arts at a relatively young age, winning all eight of his fights at that time via stoppages in the first round and went on to become the Ring of Fire Heavyweight champion before he was snapped up by the UFC. Carwin made his debut in the UFC at UFC 84 against Christian Wellisch and won the match after just one punch within 44 seconds, displaying the immense punching power that Shane Carwin boasted off, with his punch sending his opponent’s mouth piece flying across the cage.

Carwin won the match via knockout to take the interim belt and when he finally got the chance to square up against Lesnar for the unification bout, he was blown away by the champion.

Since then, Shane Carwin has become more or less of a bit part fighter in the UFC, getting sporadic chances at fighting in the UFC. His professional record of 12 wins out 14 is one of the most impressive in the UFC at the moment but the fact that he is an underdog has gone very much against him.

Shane Carwin is a professional Mixed Martial Artist from the state of Colorado in the United States of America who fights as a Heavyweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship or the UFC, the biggest Mixed Martial Arts promotion in the world and has been a former interim UFC Heavyweight champion. Unlike many others fighters in the sport, Carwin is someone who received proper college education and earned a degree in mechanical engineering as well.

He was a part of the wrestling team during his time in college and is a former two time runner up in NCAA Division II Wrestling National Heavyweight in 1996 and 1997 before going on to win the title of NCAA II Wrestling Heavyweight National Champion in 1999. He also played football at college level and played for the state as well. Shane Carwin won all of his first eight fights in the sport in the stoppage time of the first round, all via knockout to become the Heavyweight champion in the Ring of Fire promotion and this sensational performance earned him a contract with the UFC.

Having made his debut for the UFC on UFC 84, he performed at the very same level as he had been doing and won the match via knockout after just 44 seconds. He followed it up with a string of impressive performances that earned him a shot at the interim belt of the UFC Heavyweight Championship defeating Frank Mir for the belt.

Carwin is not dependent on his earnings from the UFC too much and keeps doing his work as a mechanical engineer and is also a volunteer wrestling coach at a school in Colorado.
